High Sheriff visit
The High Sheriff of South Yorkshire has paid a visit to a Doncaster social enterprise to meet staff and patients who volunteer there.
High Sheriff John Holt headed to Flourish Enterprises based at St Catherine’s House, Balby, where there is a Victorian Tea Room, small garden centre and an events and conferencing venue. Volunteers, many with learning disabilities or mental health needs, work there to gain valuable work experience and to give them confidence to be able to find employment or re-enter education or training.
On the visit the High Sheriff met a number of volunteers, finding out the benefits of working for Flourish Enterprises.
Paul Kendrew Jones, Flourish Enterprises Business Manager, said: “It was an excellent visit. The volunteers loved meeting the High Sheriff and told him their story on how they came to work here.”
John added: “Flourish Enterprises provides a brilliant mix of business and community facilities. The work done by the team is inspirational and of huge value and obvious benefit.”
