Scarecrows Wanted For Autumn Display

Local people are being encouraged to create their own scarecrows for our annual scarecrow display during October.

The scarecrows will once again go on show in The Walled Garden during half-term week around Halloween itself – where we’ll be having another Halloween fun day on Wednesday 31st October. As ever it’s a family friendly event so we want everyone to have fun – scarecrows shouldn’t therefore contain anything offensive, gory or any religious references.

Paul Kendrew-Jones, of Flourish Enterprises, said: “Our scarecrow display is fast becoming a local tradition and we can’t wait to see the many different designs. It is a family event so we are looking for sensible scarecrows only please. If you’d like to see your scarecrow on view in our garden please get in touch.”

The scarecrows should be freestanding and taken to The Walled Garden in the grounds of St Catherine’s House, DN4 8QP by October 26th in readiness for viewing by the public from October 27th.
